It depends on a lot of factors.
Some amp designs waste more power than others = runs hotter.
A too small amp has to work harder for a certain volume = runs hotter
The music you listen to plus how loud you listen to it.
Whether it's winter or summer.
Plus amps slowly get warmer over time.
In my case I would have to crank it up pretty loud and then drive for over an hour before I would consider flipping the cover over to help them breathe. Most of my trips were like 20-30 minutes max at a time, so it was no big deal. If I went out of town on a trip, then I would flip the cover over.
Also keep in mind that my amps were not sealed up with the cover on. There were no zippers along the sides, so some of the heat escaped there.
So it just depends.

you sire are quit ethe bad *** fabricator and innovator and when i can get a Black LS1 m6 Z28 i will pester you to no end on how exactly to do all the hidden things you have done..damn fine job and kudos for having theballs to go out and to do the R&D yourself..thats what makes this hobby great is guys like you

I have a whole new stereo setup coming. Again to be original, I'm relocating the gas tank to make the rear hump lower and plan to take 3 older Rockford amps and make one long one. It will stretch the width of the car. One amp and 750w for each JBL GTi 12" sub I have. Anyway, stereo stuff will come later.

We can add a custom air suspension to the list. Yes, I'm using Koni SA's all around.

3/4" may not seem like much, but combined with the stiff stock bumpstop removal, it made the car ride much smoother and the rear end roll into the corners much smoother resulting in better grip.
It's not something most folks want to attempt.

Can you hook Lamp + to the 12V+ source and the Lamp - with the ground wires? Would this make the light in the switch work or do you need to actually tap into an illumination wire with each of these?

Yes, I am talking about the convertible switch. I assume how I previously explained the wiring setup to you would make the light on all the time? Where would I find a wire that would only be on when the headlights are on?

Not much going on.
I'm making new air bag mounts for my front Koni's. My old ones were crooked and not that great looking. The new ones are laser cut, fully welded and smoothed out.
I'm also welding in access ports in the front shock towers. That way I can swap the shocks without unbolting the A-arms and master cylinder. Makes swapping shocks super fast.
That's it for the moment.
