I've done it on both of my camaros. Very easy to do. There is a write up on here as to how to go about it. All i have to say is when you do end up doing it, TAKE YOUR TIME!! I have seen people butcher their lights, runs, improper coverage, overspray, etc. Use black or clear RTV too.

Also side note: If your lights are oxidized, cracked, foggy don't do this mod til you sand/buff that out. It will just look like CRAP!

Very popular mod.

Just make sure you bake the lights long enough and be careful to not break the outside lip like I did.

I've done it.. work the shell apart slowly and carefully. Take your time taping off the reflective areas. Took me a solid night, but a lot of that was wetsanding and buffing the plastic lenses. They were REALLY hazed and yellow.

i did it to my jetta, pretty simple really. I used a heatgun instead of baking them and i melted the lense a little on one light and now it looks foggy, just be carefull and take your time. If you use a heatgun always keep it moving or you will do what i did.

I used glad press and seal to mask off the reflector area (whatever you wanna call it). It worked perfect, no tape or paper, just press it on and fold the excess back.

That's a pretty good idea! Wish I had thought of that when I did mine. I did mine with 124,563 pieces of tape.

I don't think any of our sponsors carry them anymore. Jegs carries a brand called Anzo in black, chrome and something else. Sad thing is that they all look like Halo ones.
*Edit, they're expensive as hell, nevermind. lol

Now that I think about it, I think Year One carries them.

Peace,
Craig.

sorry to reopen an old thread but im about to do my whistler lights and have a question. I know to tape off the back of the light around where the light comes into the housing, but what about the sides? I saw on Whistlers they looked taped off but the final product looked painted. So do i paint the front piece and the ridge like sides where the light comes into the housing?

The semi whistler lights have been on back order for awhile. I emailed a non sponsor and there is no info as to when they will be available again.
