Some of the LED bulbs in my SS Spoiler 3rd brake light. How do I fix it.
A few of the pairs of LED bulbs in my spoiler went out. 2 or so pairs in the middle and 3 or so pairs on the right side. How can it get my 3rd brake light back to normal?
Thanks alot.
Thanks alot.

I still haven't seen a way to fix this. What sucks is that the lens would have to be cut and modified. I think the leds are wired in series and not individually, so if you did you'd have to replace all of them. The le I've heard some people mention that you can pick up a replacement from hawksthirdgenparts for about $60. I think gm list is upwards of $100 last time I checked.

Mine has the same problem. The only way to fix it is to buy the whole replacement part from the dealer.
For you folks in the US, you can also get it at gmpartsdirect for quite a big discount.
Let me see if I can find the part # for you.

p/n 12369969 (same # that the GM dealer gives you)... GM List price is $187.11... GM Parts Directs price is $116.76.
This was from the post where I asked a while ago, so the prices might have changed by now. I still haven't fixed mine since I don't really want to pay over $200 for a brake light. (gmpartsdirect won't ship up here)

You do have to replace the ENTIRE piece as it is one-piece sealed. Already bought a new one to replace mine (I am running illegal tint so I do NOT need any EXTRA reasons to get pulled over )

Referencing their wiring, they couldn't be wired in series. There are just too many in there with a common of voltage the drop would be too great. I have had mine out and it seems that they are wired in parallell, by the looks of it and theoretically as well... Since if they truely were in series if one went out the rest of them would as well. Now, it could be series/parallell... I could see that being the case as well... But none of this really matters, I have the same problem and havn't systematically cut mine apart to fix it. And havn't been able to stomache the cost of a new light. Its just insane! At $0.27 an LED, and a circuit with no more intellegance in it then what you'd find in a begginers course at a vo tech electrical class.... It just makes me sick.
