My new Interceptor gauge and pillar pod.
Well after some issues with the first one I received from Aeroforce, I fianlly have my new Interceptor gauge installed. I am very happy with it. I love all the different things it can do. The only thing I was disappointed about is the fact that it doesnt read Transmission temperature. I thought it did, but only on Automatic vehicles. Theres apparently no sensor for a manual. But the two other things I was really concerned about was the shift light and MPG display. Overall, I'm pleased:
Sorry for the crappy pic. The USB cable for my good camera was accidently cut.

You don't need to hook any other wires up to it on our cars. It gets the power directly from the OBDII port. I think there might be the option to hook a wire up so that you can dim it with your interior lights, but I never bothered hooking that up.

You dont need a seperate power source on our cars as someone stated earlier. It gets its power from the OBD2 port.
And the shift light works very well. I have mine set at 5800 rpm.
I'm not sure what was wrong with the first one. it worked at first, but after I installed it in my pillar pod it stopped. I thought it was a pinched wire or somethng but it was fine, no visible damage anywhere. I called Todd at Aeroforce technology and he sent me a new one right away. I didnt even have to send the original back first.
Some things are a little confusing though. I'm not sure about how to set up the horsepower setting. Its set at 100 hp right now. Now obviously LS1s put out a lot more than that. But when I tried adjusting to about 330, it threw my MPG way off. it said i was getting like 75 MPG. . I put it back to 100 and the MPG seems to be accurate. I do not know for sure though. I will be calling Todd back to double check on how that really works.

Oh, I had the gauge in my Neon and it got the power from the ODBII port aswell. I thought I read in the instructions that in GM vehicles it needs to have a seperate power source and ground. Well, that's good to know.
Thanks.
Thanks.
