I realized that it is exactly like my Mom's buick LeSabre turn signal.

I guess that was one less thing they worried about when they threw together the 4th gens.

i'm too busy listening to the roar of the LS1 to even worry about what the blinker/stalk sounds like!

So if you think this thread is worthless, which it may very well be, why on earth would you post something to make it go right back to the top? It seems like your contradicting your own statement of this thread being worthless since you felt compelled to post something in it, that being your opinion on "you not caring about your turn signal stalk". Stop being a bad *** and keep your worthless opinions to your self seeing as how they are just cluttering up ls1tech. End Rant.

I thought the same when I first drove mine. Pretty used to it now. Maybe you can go in there and slightly grind down the hump it slides over?

That was the point of the thread, thanks for missing it. I was wondering if anyone had swapped it out for a nicer unit. I'm sorry but just becuase the car has an ls1 doesn't mean everything else has to suck ***. By the way I hope people realize how redneck it sounds when you say well it's got an ls1 so I don't care about anything else. Brings me back to the day with a "3/4 cam and a 350" power is apparently all the matters. All I hear is "well dis ******* got da ls1 so i could give two ***** less."

Without the loud "click" and echo sounds from the blinker, how else do you expect to hear the turn signal over the LS1 engine?? Last thing I want is to accidently leave my blinker on, making myself look like an old man driving that cant hear. :-)

oh yeah, gotta love those Ford multifunction switches...my 93 tbird SC ate 3 of them (all used though)

one time i came home and shut the car off and the headlights wouldnt go off.. turns out the flash to pass was broken and stuck on. i had to pull the fuse for the headlights so they wouldnt stay on all night... then the next morning i forgot to put the fuse back in and i couldnt shift the car out of park because the brake safety switch was wired into the same fuse once i replaced the fuse, i promptly went to the pick and pull for another switch

a buddy of mine had a 91 tempo that would randomly turn on the windshield wipers when you put on the turn signals

i gotta check this. i think that it only makes the turn signal light come on steady, but not blink. i have to check up on that

no it definitely blinks. and if you hit it jsut right itll blink super fast like you have a blown bulb. i do this all the time changing lanes. too bad it doesnt do this for the high beams. id like to flash at people without having to click the high beams on, then click them off several times. but oh well.

It definitely blinks. I remember when I was little I used to sit in the car for no apparent reason, and I could move the blinker really fast by doing that. As dumb as that sounds..

GM pretty much cheaped out on this part. The turn signal lever was garbage on my 1999 Z28. All the white paint was wearing off as well.

The turn signal in my 1991 Cadillac Brougham is a chrome plated metal rod with a plastic piece on the end. It feels like a bolt action rifle, and I don't think they had changed that part since 1965 on that particular car.
