Thumbs up how to: projector eagle eye gap fix

When i first got these lights i was asking every one on how to get these light to fit straight with out breaking the soft plastic housing, i ended up going through 2 of these sets of lights, at that point i started thinking that . but after about 3 hours of trial and error, and staring at these thing (i really didn't want to give up on them, i really like them) i found a very simple solution.

There's a long peg on the bottom of the housing that looks like it would be able to be adjusted but there is no adjustment. so i was thinking about it, what if i put a spacer there, it should push out the bottom and even things out. IT DID, now the lights need very minimal adjustment and fit nice and snug, very little gap at all.

I ended up going to home depot and buying a couple 3/4 inch poly spacers, one for each side and putting those on

here are some pics of before, during and after. enjoy

before

peg with no adjustment

poly spacer

Thanks for the tip, this is going to be very helpful to me, as I intend to buy these headlights in the new year.

By the way, your car looks terrific!

And here is the evidence...

That is a horrible cutoff. The only thing on its side is that at least it isn't reflecting light upward causing glare and blinding others. That's about the only good I can see from that picture.

you konw, i thought about doing that, but i guess i got an earlier version of the lights... there's only 2 wires that come out of the bottom of the lights, instead of the 4 separate wires that hook up the leds and the halos separatly. so i would have to take the lights apart to do so, plus the leds have kinda grown on me

What is a good cutoff supposed to look like? I'm used to the standard halogens and stockers without any real cutoff line.

Actually I think you have the newer ones. Looks like you have more LEDs in those (6 maybe it looks like). There is another set that look identical except they have only 3 LEDs in the sides and those have separate wires for the LEDs.

sorry to hijack this thread, but when u look at the cutout, are u looking at how the projector spreads the light? or is there something else that u are supposed to look at?
