Halo's Wiring Question.
Alright so what I want to do is make it so my halos are my running lights ALL the time instead of the amber running lights. What I did was put the ground to the nut on either side of the air box, and have the brown wire from the AMBER running light to the power wire to the halo's. Here is the problem with the car running in daytime the amber lights are on, but when the headlights are on the ambers are off and the halos are on. If the car is not started and I turn the key to just the on position with car not started. The halos will light up and no ambers which is how I want it... Now why is it when the car is started that it is not like that? Any clues? The brown wire is not connected to the running lights at all only the ground is and the other wire I think it was blue I determend that had to deal with the turn signal because when I put voltmeter into the slot and clicked the turn signal I would get a reading otherwise I wouldn't.

If the Camaro's DRLs are wired like the Firebird....
- The bulb is dual filament.
- The bright filament is the DRL during the day.
- The dim filament is the DRL at night.
- The bright filament is also used for signals.
That functionality is controlled by a small box behind the radio.
If you want the DRL on all the time instead of the amber DRL, you might be better off wiring them into an ignition-switched circuit for power and defeat the DRL.

I've had my halos for over a year and half now. They still haven't gone out and my Z is my DD as well. I just wired them to the the side markers that are always on. Havne't had issues yet.....

I don't know why they designed it that way.

The headlights turning on at night is the auto-light feature which the USA Firebird doesn't have but the Canada Firebird does.
