Sounds like a good idea. I'd like to see what other people have done. I know there's a guy with a yellow goat with a sweet-*** hood on here. It's in the "before and after" thread going on.

Definitely go with the Mecham hood. I had the same dilemma when I was deciding, I have absolutely no regrets with the Mecham hood. I'm always getting compliments on it everywhere.

BTW - You're the one I was asking to post pics of the black spoiler on your silver car, right? Those pics didn't come out in the post when you replied (they were red x's). Would you mind posting them again? If they don't come out I can give you my email address in a PM to mail them to if you wouldn't mind.

LOL well you are online so what did you expect? This site blocked the letter "F" so I use the number for it instead.

they all sit on top of the bumper at the front of the hood. but there are several ways to fix this or correct it so that it flows ok.

1) you could trim the bumper and actually raise that center piece enough to line up.

2) raise it some and then put an emblem or something to fill the gap like i did. i used a firehawk badge i had laying around (polished the bird and cleared it)

I have one question. What happens when it rains and you have the car outside?

hood has two layers and there are drain holes at the back lower portion of the hood. and most water rolls out of the front of the nostrils.... the only drawback i have seen is that more dust can enter the engine bay. but i rinse it once every few weeks

It gets wet. j/k

Seriously, as was mentioned above by Raven02TA, there's a second layer to the hood where the water drains down to the front, onto and over the airbox near the windshield washer fluid container. The engine is safe. I've had my hood for 3-4 years on my daily driver (even in the snow...) and haven't had any problems related to having the hood on the car.

YOU DON'T LIKE THAT HOOD?!?!

I'm guessing that the issues were fixed...my hood came out perfect (minus the small overlap on the middle of the bumper, nbd), but I may have been a "lucky one" during the "issues" period (I bought it a few years ago)...?

same here.....mine came with a wave or two that were easily massaged out with some body filler and light sanding.
