Someone should really photoshop some type of DUAL peice splitter for the Trans ams like the one on that v6 white camaro!!!! A two peice splitter would flow so much better with the T/A/

00firebird:

I agree. Do you have any info on the splitters, hoods, fenders, wings, etc. that these Camaros are running? I'm looking for something that WORKS as well as looks good (including pushing air into the radiator for high speed cooling, underhood venting, etc.)!

Thanks!

Default ‘ere we go!

OK, guys and gals, I’ll try and help you out, here. After a year or two of searchin’ and wanderin’, I’ve come up with a couple of places that offer some stuff for us. The first place, Extreme Dimensions, offers one and two piece universal splitters in both carbon fiber (by Carbon Creations) and fiberglass. I can’t remember how wide the one-piece is, so I’m not sure it’s wide enough for an F-Body (just call ‘em to check). The other place, APR Performance, will custom make anything you want – just send them a cardboard template. Under $400.00 ($340.00 plus shipping, includes 2 support rods).

Just remember my friends, if you do this, don’t then go out and do “serious” speeds and think your car will stick like glue to the road! The back end could now start getting LOOSE without some additional wing to match the additional front downforce!

I think $400 for a custom made one is pretty reasonable. Not sure you could make anything yourself for less, at least for the quality it appears you are getting. This way, too, you can get absolutely ANYTHING and ANYSHAPE or SIZE you want - not limited to somebody elses design. Also, at the start of this thread, it looked like that was in the range of what the guy was going to charge, remember.

If you want something cheaper, check out the other site: the "universal" fiberglass ones are only $99 (the carbon fiber ones are a lot more, of course).

Just trying to help out, since it appears everything else has "gone bust".

no we appreciate the ideas, i didn't even know such things existed, but the guy mentioned who makes the GTO splitters charges about 175-200 shipped for the splitter. it is of great quality also. this makes it hard for me to justify a expenditure like that. i don't know...

Hey, quik,

You are absolutely right. The original guy with the GTO splitter was going to bring them in around $150 supposedly. I just went back and looked! That would have been a sweet deal. Unfortunately, he apparently went away on us.

I, too, was waiting for something to happen here. Since it appeared everything else was dead, I wanted to offer up these other options since it appeared there was a lot of interest in this item.

If you want a cheap option, I think I’d try calling Extreme and get the dimensions on the universal fiberglass model to see how it would fit. The real carbon fiber ones are stupid pricey.

While the APR one at $340 + is more (still a lot less than carbon fiber), I really like the idea of being able to design my own.
