So if I do it the way you showed will my DRL's come on and I will be able to turn them totally of at night if I wanted right? If they drl's dont work I could care less.

what are you doing just getting rid of the auto headlight feature or the headlight and DRL's?

from my understanding. if you solder the wire from A to B the DRL's will be off for good and the headlights will only come on when you turn the switch to the far right inside the car.

You dont even need to solder the wire you can also just cut the black wire on the small plug of the drl box.

What about unplugging it like the first guy said why not do it that way? Whats the disadvantage to that? That way I wont have to tamper with my factory wiring. I rather get rid of the drl's and the auto headlight feature. Also do we have to have our headlights on for the fogs to be on I cant remember or is it only the parking lights?

because like i said before it disables the BRAKE light indicator. So you wont know if you ever get low brake fluid for some reason. thats the only excuse not to i can think of right now. i just want to disable my DRL's and disable the auto headlights.

If you do it they way I posted, the only thing affected will be the auto-lights feature. The Firebird's wiring is basically setup the way that is done in the thread I posted.

Do you just pry the dashboard to get it to come off? I don't want to snap, crack or break anything.

That is the idea... but they are delicate pieces that crack easily and are expensive to replace.

This thread is about auto-headlight defeat, not DRL defeat. That is a different process. I don't know what it is, but I can probably find it searching on here.

DRL (TurnSignal) lights selectable on 2000 Firebird. Modifing the "Black box" behind the radio works. I have pictures if anyone needs them.

I think all DRL should be selectable on ALL vehicles.
