Should i or Shouldnt I
Im on the path to buy a 3inch SS Hood with functional heat extractor from ebay and im debating weather to remove the Z28 badges and slap on some SS . my buddies told me i should because our cars have the same engine as the SS, and that the SS is just an appearance package . but the only thing that bothers me is that my car isnt a true SS . need some feedback

Personally, i would it since i love the way "SS" sounds over "Z28", but if your going to do that, then you might as well get the SS spoiler too. Just dont try to sell ur car claiming it's actual camaro SS.

To the people on here and the people that you know that know anything about these cars really know the differences between the two cars. After modding, a Z28 is an SS. Do it if you wanna. My friend has the ram air hood and the ws6 emblems and stuff on a non-ws6. Doesn't change how I(educated enough to know the diff between a t/a and ws6) see the car. I would just keep rockin the Z28 badges bro.

you putting SS badges on a Z28 is just like (although not QUITE as bad) as the kid with the Civic DX who puts "Type-R" badges on it. I don't know quite as much about Camaros as I do TA's but if the SS is the equivilant of a WS6, doesnt it have the better intake/suspension? I'm sure its more than just cosmetics. But again, that hood doesnt make it an SS any more than a 17ft wing makes a DX civic a type R ;-)

im probably one of the few that will say this but if you can back up the Super Sport monicher (sp) i say go for it. but this is coming from the guy who put a ws7 badge on my v6 ram air w68 car

either way it will look good but I love the retro Z badges!
I just get pissed off when I see a v6 car with any or all the SS options on it (hood, spoiler, badges, wheels, exhaust) Yeah I've seen that a few times

Basically it comes down to you, if you want, search the threads where guys have asked this before. A lot of guys will say go for it, personally I think if it is a Z, rock the Z badges and not the SS. You are going to get crap from some SS guys. How I think is if someone asks you if it is a SS since it has the badges you either say no and they are like oh, and might look at it different or you lie and say yes, which isn't good. Don't try to make the car something it isn't, its a Z, just make it a SS clone with Z badges. If you don't like the stock ones, get retro or Z06 style Z28 badges. Most importantly, DON'T try to say it is a SS or sell it advertised as a SS.

It is a shame that people get flamed for swapping badges on these cars, but I agree with some of the other folks, its your car... if it makes you happy go for it, hell i dont think i can count how many cars i have seen running around with the GMMG emblem just cause they have the exhaust...

If I look up the vin and it says Z28, then thats the badge you should use. I like both, but you have a Z28, not an SS.
I guess as long as you don't try to sell it as a authentic SS, then do whatever you want...... And don't claim it as an SS either.

To be honest with you the z28 was always more of a stripped down all motor car without all the fancy additons and the price mark up. Do as you want but the z28 Rocks! Retro ones look better to me than the cheezy ones they slapped on our rides.
