Default Molding removal failure?

Alright I attempted to take the small piece off first. Everything came off fine except there is an outline of the molding piece that will not come off. Any suggestions?

Goo gone works well. If the person before you had any body work done they might have taped it off around the molding

You can find paint prep at WalMart in the auto section. That should work.

If it looks like this, goo-gone will not work.

I had to compound and polish mine to get out:

You shouldn't have to resort to wet sanding but I'm sure you could if you needed to. Since the Bug & Tar Remover didn't cut it, you will need a polishing compound. Meguiar's Scratch X might work but you could need something more abrasive. Someone with a dual-action (or if you have one) should be able to get rid of it with the right compound. My Prima Cut would get rid of that **** easily.

Post pics. Are you sure it's not a paint line? You may have to wetsand and buff/polish it out.

It sounds to me like the car has been painted and they just cleared over the molding. That line is the line where it wasnt recleared. Can you feel it? If so I seriously doubt you will be able to do anything to get it off...at least not to the level where I would be satisfied with. My suggestion would be to put it back on and forget the !molding mod!

watch out with using the scratch-x, because it is abrasive. too much rubbing in one area may damage it.

Mine looked horrible when i pulled it off. Clay bar took care of it, and wax to really clean it up nice.
