The leather had a plastic tube going through it, I put the hog ring around that and the metal rails, so I guess I did it wrong? some of them I put through the leather, the white strip and around the rails. What kind of problems am I looking at now?
thanks

Also, is it hard to do the front seats? Anyone have any pointers for this at all? I just called a place and they quoted me $470 for the two front seats and the door panels, F*** them lol.
I already did the back seats and the back panel, how hard are the front seats compared to the back?
thanks.

I paid an upholstery shop almost $200 to do the door panels.
My front seats required a little bit of sewing, but only because I have the plastic-backed seats with lumbar...
Other than the sewing, they were pretty straightforward...
good luck,
Shane

What does the bottom part of the front seat use? Hog rings?
What does the top part use? just a zipper?
How hard is it to take apart the front seats?
Did you need to use any glue?

Let me preface this by saying that I don't know how similar the camaro seats are compared to my TA seats, I can only go by what mine were like...
![Happy](https://ls1tech.com/forums/images/smilies/LS1Tech/gr_stretch.gif)
Plastic clips on the bottom of the cushion, velcro-like stuff on the seat.
No zipper. Hog rings on the back, and stitching on the sides.
Pretty easy. Most frustrating part was re-assembly. Holding the seat back in the proper position, while trying to put the bolts in, is really a two person job. ![Happy](https://ls1tech.com/forums/images/smilies/LS1Tech/gr_stretch.gif)
I did not use any glue on the front seats. ![Happy](https://ls1tech.com/forums/images/smilies/LS1Tech/gr_stretch.gif)
Good luck!

Ok, got done with my leather now except for the front door panels (saving that PITA job for later...)
Here are some tips, take your time, it sucks.
The pass seat is easier, do it first
remove the seat from the car
disassemble the two seats on the sides, 2 on the outside of the seat use a 13mm socket, the other side looks like a start (forgot the technical name) but the socket for that comes with the install kit.
Do the bottom first
turn it over
remove the bracket with the 13mm socket
set to the side
long plastic c-clips hold the old cloth to the seat, remmove them, peal cloth away
before removing from the top, slide your hand towards the back lifting on the cloth to pull it away from the velcro, this helps to not tear the foam and makes the seat look better.
re-install the same way, make sure to stick the velcro on the seat to the velcro on the inside of the seat.
the c-clips on the bottom are a PITA, I did the back, then the front, then the sides. All i have to say about this is good luck, and use some muscle.
For the top portion, it's pretty easy, I used some glue along with the velcro to make sure it stayed tight to the seat, zipper it up when your all done.
re-assemble and your done
The pass seat took me 4.5hrs to do, not knowing a damn thing.
The drivers side seat is a bigger PITA because it has power. When removing the seat, make SURE to lift the seat as hugh as possible with the two paddles on the side of the seat director. This will allow you to get at both 13mm bolts on the bottom of the seat when removing the brqacket. I didn't do this and the damn seat had to go back in the f'n car, talk about a pita!
Other than the actuators and all that jaz, the seat is the same.
I will have some pics soon, along with the custom embroidery.
I do have to ask, how did you guys get your back seat panel so tight? Mine doesn't look that tight, I make have to go back at it with some glue.

Excuse the mess, I haven't had much time to clean the car, and if you notice in the back seat, I have some leather wipes to use
The leather has some chalk marks on it from when they were cutting it.

I did not bother to remove the door panel from the car. Other than that I followed Cannibals instructions. Worked great and looks great!

My wife and i redid the doors on my old 30th ann Z28 last year. Big PITA removing the carpeted piece. I went to the Home Depot, got some strong laminated Cardboard, cut out the vinyl and applied with adhesive. Its a challenge getting it on right and then to look right, but we did it. Let me see if i can find more pictures.
Here you go

I did mine and they weren't that hard to do. I cut the plastic molded tips completely off and used very small sheet metal scews to hold them back on. I used larger screws to hold the panel to the door handle. The hardest part was by the speaker. Tedious, but it worked. They fit securely back on with no problems.
Here are some pix of the finished product. Total cost was $5.99 for the cost of the Dupli-Color vinyl paint. It dries fast and adheres to the panel really good.

Nice pics everyone! Awesome looking interiors. I ended up taking my door panels to a local upholstery shop, and they charged me almost $200 to do exactly this:
live and learn I guess...
