Default In between washes....

...how do you guys keep your cars clean?
I wash mine about once a week, usually my sunday tradition, but in between how do you guys keep em looking sharp? Where I live its really dusty and a day after I wash it has a fine coat of dust all over, and Im not going to detail every other day!

car cover.. swiffer for dust is awesome or large microfiber cloths.. not much you can do man, the place you live will determine that, and it doesn't sound to intriguing

i feel your pain man..... leave the car outside for a day, and it's covered in dust. I use one of those red cloth brush things to wipe it down every morning, but really the only thing you can do is keep it in a garage.

I keep mine in the garage and a day or two later it's covered in dust too I think the main problem is where you live. We're in a new construction house and there isn't much grass yet so we're pretty surrounded by dirt. That crap finds a way in through the cracks/crevices of the garage to cover the car. I need to find a good "duster" to wipe the thing off with. I use microfiber cloths but it just pushes the dust around and it's hard to get it completely clean.

The good thing about white and silver cars is that you can't really see dust as much as on dark colors.

I'd recommend just dealing with it in between washes. The more you touch the finish, whether it's with a duster, microfiber, etc., the greater your chances of swirls/scratches. Just not worth it, IMO.

keep your car in a garage inside one of those plastic bubbles they make.thats really the only way. but i think your best bet is use a good detailer spray.

I use the Maguires spray detailer, but I am careful that it is not too dirty as I worry about the scratches and swirl marks also. I am making the move to Zaino products, so I may ditch the Maguires, we will just have to see.

thinking about getting a damn leafblower to keep the dust off...
How do the spray detailers work? Ive never really used them. Just spray on and wipe off? Seems like it would cause scratching. thanks fellas!

I have a black trans am, and my school is currently in the middle of a $28 million new school construction project. A month ago I did a full detail, wash, clay bar, scratch x, wax, etc. Car looked the best it ever had. Next day I go to school and park it in the parking lot next to the construction zone, and it is covered in dust.

I usually just end up washing it. I've used the quick detailers spray before, but it seems like it doesn't wipe off as smooth. Its like it leaves a greasy residue.

I wash once a week, wax once a month, and use a quick detailer (Zymol "Detail" is what i use) after every wash. That keeps the surface nice and slippery so that dust wipes off pretty easily. Despite the fact that my car is garaged, I have to dust it pretty much daily.

As yet i havent, My paint is pretty clean(as far as I can tell) but my normal sunday routine was wash, then wax every other week. I do plan on doing(or paying someone to do) the whole 9 when i get back though, as I have developed a fair amount of swirls.

Wouldnt the duster leave scratches? Again if someone could explain detailer spray use I would appreciate it!

detail spray is a spray that removes dust, fingerprints, and that kinda stuff you spray it on the wipe it off with a good microfiber so it picks of the dust instead of spreads it. it leaves the surface slick and makes it harder for dust to stick to it next time... i use prima slick quick detailer and i love it I've tried a lot of the others and this is by far the best ive used...

Up your washes from 1 to 3.

Right after I clean mine and it sits in the garage while i'm doing a few things to it it already collects dust on it.... Sometimes I hate black

The California car duster won't leave scratches... like it's designed. Just make sure you don't accidentally stick it in freshly buttered tires like it did. I had to get a new one cause every time I used it afterwards i just left smudges all over.

And as for the quick detailer spray you just spray it on and wipe it off with a microfiber towel. DON'T USE anything else to wipe it off with. Any auto motive store carry's them.
