Default Help w/ gauge panel/mounting!!

Well I have been searching on here and found all sorts of mounting locations accept for the one I am searching for I want to mount a gauge right next to the TCS button on the Trans Am which is front of the shifter. Will a gauge fit here or no? Does any body know if there is a pre-made panel or am I on my own for making a hole/mounting it there by my self. Heres a pic of where if any body is confused.

You can modify the one you have. Demonbird did it. See here.

By the way, do you ever have plans to create a mold of that bezel of yours Snuffles?

I used a 2 1/16" VDO gauge in that location. I will post pictures this weekend.

I'm not sure if anyone sells them. Just take a hole saw to it and get a gauge that has a bezel around it is how I would go about it.

Beer99c5 (member on this site) did an amazing job on mine! I got a panel made for a single gauge, but I have scene some of his panels with as much as you could possible need in there. Send him a PM and I’m sure he can get what you need done.

I would love to have a mold made of it but it will likely never happen because of cost.
There's something else in the works though that I'm hoping will be a bigger hit and will be cheaper to reproduce.

thanks! But seriously getting a mold for your bezel would most definitely be worth the time/money.

So I would cut a slightly smaller hole so the gauge portion could slip threw but the top part would stop, how are your guys gauges secured in?

Each company secures there gauges in differently.
Give us a company (ie: Autometer, Interceptor, etc.) and we can further help you.

Generally, most 2 1/16" gauges mount behind with roughly the same dimensions.

I am using an Autometer ES Series (New) It's black face by day w/ white letters and at night black w/ RED LED lightning should go pretty good w/ the stock lighting.

Sorry, I must have missed this post.

You would cut a hole large enough to fit the gauge but not large enough where the bezel would fit through.
It seems you're looking at 2 1/16" (52mm) gauges. I mounted 2 1/16" gauges and had a 2" hole saw so I used that then Dremel'd (Did I just make up a word?) the rest.

The way the Autometer should mount is simple.
Autometer uses brackets that are rather low-profile and fit well.
Check out the Autometer site to see what I mean, here.
I also found a pic on Flickr to show how they mount, although the pic is quite complicated because he had to fab his own bracket
but I emphasized the bracket with red arrows,

Hope that helps.

Now that I got the gauge in person, and saw it I saw that ring, and that what I was figuring use a 2" holesaw and dremel as needed. And now that I saw the bracket the autometer came with it all makes sense. =) Now just to get a deep pan.
