"WS9 Hood" is NOT anything the factory produced... Nothing special like a "WS6 Hood" at least. It is simply the RPO code for the Formula which had the same flat stock hood as the Firebird and Trans-Am...

What about the 'Suuperhawk' hood? Got any photos of that one?

The Raptor hood has heat extractors. They are in the back of the hood right in fron of the windshield. They would be very hard to capture in a picture. Let me know if you need me to explain better and I will try to get a picture of mine.

Ws6 and Firebawk hood are the only optional OEM hood made for the late 4th gen firebird.
Ws9 never came OEM on any version of the firebird.
The Ws9 is the same as the Ws6 but w/ heat extractors but made by a company I cant say because Ill get in trouble and VFN.
The Ws9 Outlaw is bigger in in the hood scoops and is made by the same companies.
The Superhawk is made by the same company that I cant say and is more of a Firehawk hood but much more aggressive w/ bigger hood scoops.
NOW to the question you asked.
The raptor hood is made my suncoat creations, I have herd fitment isnt really good from some and others have said its fine. They do have an option to get heat extractors at an extra cost. The raptor is almost the same as the firehawk except you dont have to do anything to the bumper to fit, I tried to find you pics of the raptor with the heat extractors but couldnt get any good ones.

Does it say WS9 anywhere?
It probably doesn't.
Your "WS9" package was probably a dealer special.... just like the "WS7" package.

ok back to the original question about the RAPTOR hood. CNTLSE 1 is correct, the heat extractors on them are on the backside just infront of the windshield wipers, not on the top like the firehawk hoods. They are rectangular in shape, one on each side, kind of offset like the ram air inlets, with a grill over them. I have had one for several years and love how no one else around has one. Someone can correct me if I am wrong, but I believe all their hoods, including their WS6 have the extractors along the back.
On a side note, on colder days you can see heat coming up out of them and fog up the windshield alittle.
Hope that helps alittle, sorry I don't have any pictures of it currently either.

I still think that the 'Superhawk' hood is more in line with what the original poster had in mind.
It is a design similar to the 'Raptor', but includes the 'Firehawk' design with the heat extractors on the top/mid-section.

No link, no harm, no foul, ...
"Factory WS9 hood" made me laugh too tho, ...

2-Your car has a "WS9" hood produced by an aftermarket company that should be easy enough to find if you can use google and search the term. That's why it has the hood, but none of the performance equipment.
3-Calling someone ignorant, and spelling it wrong is a little too ironic to ignore

All the hoods
to the original poster the hood your looking for is the superhawk hood look at m pics
to the other postes read on.
WS9 is rare thats why ya'll might not know about it but yes it is an RPO code n my door i looked up the history of my car and this is all the stuff that turned up. but ya'll are right its not a hood i read over my papers and i was wrong its actually the ASCD WS6 hood my mistake but here are all the hoods i could find for the Trans Am
WS9:MODEL CONVERSION, FORMULA
my RPO code
my car does have the RPO WS9 code on the door
ASCD WS6 Hood
WS6 hood
notice the difference in the nostril trim from the factory WS9 and WS6. The WS9 has more smoothe curves just look at the edge by the windshied also notice how on the inake tip there isn't the same the WS9 goesnt hae the grove that outlines where air goes in like the WS6 does
WS1 hood
the WS1 hood is a WS6 hood with out the split line where the air goes in and italso doesn't have the grove outlining where the air goes in
Raptor Hood
the raptor hood has smooth curves and no separation like the WS6 or the WS9 hood
WS9 Hood
http://www.vfnfiberglass.com/ws9top.jpg
all his is is the WS6 hood withheat extractors beside the nostrels
Mecham Hood
this hood is most similar to the Raptor hood but it has heat extractors on the nostrels
Superhawk Hood
this hood is most similar to the firehawk hood except for the fact that it has heat extractors beside the nostrels
Firehawk Hood
firehawk hood is similar to the superhawk hood except for it doen't have heat extractors

The last two pictures that Fotis posted are both firehawk hoods, firehawks did have heat extractors.
here is a thread link with a real superhawk hood, https://ls1tech.com/forums/showthrea...d.php?t=950102
