I bought 2 12" cathodes to put in there, but there not as red as I wanted them to be.

cold cathodes tend to not be very red but more pinkish. What some people have done is taken red saran wrap and wrapped it around the bulb to make it redder.

I'd try LEDs, those would be really red.

Alright well i'm getting the ones off of newegg. (computer parts store).

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16811994003

If anyone is ever going to do something similar, or needs cathodes, i reccomend going here. All you need to do is put all the comp. junk aside and use the power/ground wires.

How do you plan on mounting them without the tube being visible? I would have done LEDs

Hey Brian. If I did LED's wouldnt there still be wires..? And i'm gonna get a small wire-loom and run the wires through there, and attach it to the hood with wire clips, that way it looks somewhat factory. Right now the wires are pushed to the side of my engine bay until i got everything right. And I got pics of the guy you might be thinking of:

this is what I mean with the wire loom:

This is why i had to order new tubes.. This is what it looked like when i turned on the old RED ones. There were TWO 12" in there.

and here's the tube itself:

And they were supposed to be RED!
In person, when those were on, it'd look like I put a spot light in the nostrils lol.
I'll post pics when the new ones arrive

I was talking about hiding the cathode tubes... not the actual wires. That'd be no problem. If you go with the cathodes, just try and mount them as close to the hood as possible where you can't see the tubes from the outside.
