White painted intake pics
Been doing some appearance work on my new motor while waiting to do the rest of the upgrades. I decided to go with white for the hell of it and see how dirty it will get. Valve covers are white as well, with black coil brackets. Haven't seen too many white intakes, so pics:

Looks nice at the moment, it won't for very long. Paint, especially without clearcoat(i don't see any) cannot handle being hit with cleaners and rags all the time like you will be trying to keep that white looking good. Trust me, been there done that with alot of them before I got into powdercoating. I would at least clearcoat the hell out of it. If it doesn't last long and you still want it white, give me a buzz, I can take care of it in powder and then you're good to go cleaning wise..
bsf--I can redo those FRC's in gloss white powder, that should solve your problem

White intake looks sweet and is pretty unique, haven't seen any that color but damn it is gonna be a pain in the butt for you to keep it clean and like bsf said it might turn yellow after a while.

The intake looks sick and i always wanted to do it, but I know such a nice looking thing isnt meant to last. Unfortunately I think it will yellow and get dirty reall quick. I hope I'm wrong, keep us updated

clearcoat made it yellow immediately. Had to strip it and repaint once already!
car is not daily driver, hopefully lasts...

tiago if you are rattle can the clear you need to use 500 degree clear. Duplicolir makes one. That's what I used to do when I was still painting intakes. It never yellowed. Paint and clear on FRCs always runs the risk of getting damaged if you have headers as that's alot more heat sent up to the underside of those units. Aurface of an intake won't even get to 200 degrees on a long drive on a 90 degree day based on the testing i did on ny ws6 using an IR thermo.

Painted my intake white. lasted 6 months before yellowing. Used primer, base coat then 500degree clear. Looked good untill the yellow started showing. Repainted the thing a different color now it looks pretty good. See picks below for new color

Thanks for the compliments. It's all 500 deg ceramic Duplicolor stuff. Sanded 400/600/1000, High build primer, and 4-5 coats of color, then wetsanded w/2000.
I tried the 500 deg clear and it looked yellow immediately and never went back to the original white, so I sanded it off and repainted white. I'm hoping no clear makes it last without yellowing. Like Tiago said, its a garage queen so maybe that will make it last longer. I'll post some updated pics with the valve covers on when the cam swap is done.
