They are always releasing new versions of "chrome" powder coating, some good some just look like silver. This one is pretty new and it's the closest I've seen yet.

The pipe has a mirror black base coat to give the chrome depth. That picture is before clear coat, and chrome powder coating requires a clear coat.

From what I hear the clear you put on top tends to yellow?

Granted though this is a lot more affoardable alternative to chroming, and is probably the best choice for most people out there....especialy someone that drives their car.

It really depends on what type of powder it is I believe just like car paint. You might can ask SilverGhost, he's a ls1tech powder coating sponsor.

IMO those typhoons or whatever are ugly. Go with a polished holley intake.

He was the only telling me that....hes doing a few small pieces for me now and I will see how they compare to real chrome plating. I hope well...I would sure like to have FAST intake powder coated vs a metal intake chromed.

the clear topcoat is not what yellows, its the chrome powder itself that will yellow if you don't clear it and put in in an engine bay, etc.

just about any of the good powder supplier's chrome powder looks really alot like chrome by itself until you clear it and it dulls way out. its unavoidable but necessary. picture the brightest non metallic silver you can imagine that is also reflective..and that's what you'll get with chrome powder with clear..
