Question Powerball 4 Paint

Anyone try this device out? It looks really slick. I need to claybar my car first, then plan on using it.

I wouldn't waste your time and just get a porter cable 7424... you know the porter cable will work, and very few people really have left reviews on this.

i don't see how a foam ball on a 1 speed drill will do your paint any good.

oh great, let me pick one up.

i'm picking up a 7424 and i'm going to start detailing my car the right way.

i'm not going to trust this, although it would be stupid of mothers to put their good name on the line if it could possibly **** up your paint.

Seems like you'd kill a lot of drill batteries trying to do the whole car with it unless you used a corded drill. Although in the print ads Foose is using a cordless.

I can see the benefit of it for doing tight places like under the spoiler or around the fog lights though.

You couldn't pay me to take something Billy Mays has ever endorsed. So my guess would be it sucks ***.

How could such a small thing mess up your paint? How much are the 7424's?
Can you just do regular wax with them or do you need to do the polish? Looks like a great machine.

The whole point of the powerball's creation was to polish wheels and engine bay pieces, so it gets in those hard to reach areas, with the convenience of just needing a drill. I've used my powerball for my paint, just because I didnt have a buffer at the time. Did it work? Yeah it did, kinda. Would a buffer be better? 100x better. Idk if that paint powerball is made any differently than my regular one, but i'd spend the extra bit and get a PC

Powerball for paint will not mess up your paint. If anything, it will do little to nothing for it. It is made up of the same type of foam that buffing pads are made out of. It's purpose, although ill-marketed for it, is for tough to get/reach places when polishing your car. It is certainly not meant to do the entire car. That is what PC/rotary is for. Take Steve up on his PC package and get to work with a proper machine and products.

Question about he PC, what if you apply it "differently" to each section will you be able to tell by looking that each section is a different shade of color?

A 2x2 section. Will it look like a bunch of spots on the car?

Negative. If you sectioned everything off with tape into 2x2 sections, then maybe something would be left where the tape was.
