Default Make Plastic Black Again? Good Products?

Hey everyone, whats one of the best products to put on black plastic that has faded and make it black again, and for it to actually last and keep it black? My mom has an avalanche that has that stupid plastic everywhere and its a nightmare and looks terrible! plus I wanna do some of the parts on my car and the truck. Let me know thanks!

"Back to Black" I believe its by mothers. They sell it at your everyday auto parts stores.

If you degrease the part and go over it with mothers back to black it will work great and last much longer than just coating it with BTB. It works great

I haven't heard good things at all about Back to Black, but I haven't used it personally. Plus, are the parts truly black, or are they dark gray? I think Back to Black is supposed to be for BLACK parts, like window trim and such.

I used it on the trim on my windshield and it made it look like new. Used the bottle on my friends mirrors and it turned out great too.

BTB looks great for a week at most. Other than that and it wears away or washes off. I wouldn't waste your time with BTB

It won't matter, the product is not black. It's merely a thick silicone.

I have also experienced this. Consider it a very temporary fix.

I like Stoner's Trim Shine. Its the best I have found for those kind of plastic pieces.

303 Aerospace Protectant. Gives plastic a deep color w/o being shiney or feeling greasy. Lasts 3 months or more.

M Brown Signature Series product called "Forever Black".
It's an actual dye that will restore the black finish, not just shine it up like an oil-based product.
Tape off, or remove the product if possible, so ya don't get it on other areas.

degrease all the pieces, rub linseed oil into them, and let them dry for 16-18 hours. its has an armor all'd look but its perfectly dry and non-greasy. this is an old school hot rodder thing i learned about. i recently did it to my wiper cowl and it looks great, and will retain the shine because it soaks in and fully dries. give it a shot, you can pick up a can thatll last ya for life for $5 probably at any hardware store!.

Until this weekend I would have said (and maybe I have) Back to Black. But for majorly oxidized parts try this. I pulled my Wiper Cowl this weekend and since I am converting my previously Charcoal interior to black, I had some SEM Classic Black laying around so I cleaned it with SEM plastic prep, sprayed the Bulldog adhesion promoter then layed down 3 coats of black followed by 3 coats of Dupont clear coat. Trust me on this. The gloss didn't show as much as you would think. Probably due to the textured surface. Now it looks like it has been recently cleaned and is going to stay that way even in the Florida Sun.
