I still want to figure out a stripe pattern for the new hood, maybe just a single stripe that spans the width of the cowl but dosent drop down to the sides. Something along those lines. What can I say I like stripes!
Just be careful. Sunoco hoods are rounded off, people stripe them to bring them out a little...

On the other hand, traditional cowls are REALLY angular (which our cars obviously are not) and look weird on most colors...

...most colors except WHITE for the same reason car manufacturers try to make their test cars WHITE when not released because on a white car lines tend to blend away.

Add stripes and those hard angles start to pop back out at you... Just something to take into consideration.

I love stripes also. I REALLY love them all the way to the back of the car (like a good Manta). I almost didn't get my Sunoco because I KNEW there was no real full length stripe that complimented the hood.

Some times you just have to choose one or the other or keep searching for some awesome way to do it no one has thought of....

Maybe something like this:

in VINYL... so you can change your mind

Agreed about doing it in vinyl, it would be alot cheaper that way too.
I would like to find some way of intergrating the stripes like you were talking about on animalss's car, but I definetly want to see it on and painted before I make a decision.
Ill come up with something

damn those look good, on the internet anyway. Why did you get rid of them again?
No I dont want to go with side stripes, as I believe they will emphasize the height of the cowl and make it look taller than it already is.
I was thinking about a stripe across the top of the cowl, not going down the sides. Black with the chrome colord pinstripe. I could also continue it out the back and over the spoiler and rear deck.

The stripes looked great just didn't match the theme of my car... It was change the theme (more black and chrome) or change the stripes (something more race inspired like the rims, got them cause they were lightweight) so I went with satin black stripes...

^^If you do a large stripe like that I HIGHLY recommend just a satin black, Mopar style.

Look up some of the SMC car's that Barry White did for "Wrecks to Riches":

http://www.supermusclecar.com/cars/camaro/camaro.html

You get your stripe and you keep a muscle car/race look as opposed to a bling bling look...

I would even consider another traditional dual stripe if I had a cowl like yours...

Ive thought about the dual stripes but I think the cowl is just a little too big.
I like the idea of the satin stripe though. How do you think that would look with the chrome pinstripe around it?

I wonder if doing the whole cowl itself in satin black with the pinstripe would look good?
The more I think about it the more I think that would look good doing the whole cowl. Like you said the cowl dosent match the lines of the car, so why try to make it match? If I could make it stand out by itself aside from the car it might not look so awkward.

I think that will look odd... At the very least, just do the top. Not exactly the same but you get the idea here:

Personally, I'd do side stripes, some type of dual stripe or nothing before painting the whole cowl or even just the top... Your car though, I'm just throwing ideas out for you

I still like the dual idea... I like how this car, which also is white with a 4" cowl, integrated the 30th look:

I wouldn't fan them out on your car though... Also, I would do black with a chrome outline.

Or just something a little different like Barry's Camaro (maybe even all satin) it is one big stripe with the center cut out (mixes traditional dual stripe with a single stripe):

I still think you just can't improve on how awesome a clean white car with a big traditional cowl and some nice hood pins will look

Default Of all the F'd up **** that could happen

So I get home tonight from hanging out with a couple of my guys and I notice, to my complete surprise, that someone nailed my rear bumper cover right on the drivers side corner. No dents just some scuffed up and scratched paint, but it will have to be repainted.
I cant ******* believe this. Honestly it looks like someone put their front grille right into my bumper cover. I wanna cry, and slit the throat of the bastard that did this and bathe in hie or her blood.
Well I guess the hood aint getting painted for a while, but at least I can have them blend in my cme while they are fixing my paint.

just be careful with ASCD, i have there ss hood and it looks great but i also have the ss spoiler and from day 1 it never fit just right....body shop did some work to help make it fit better, but still not exactly flush.......and then less than a year and a half of having it on the car the spoiler starting splitting in two pieces and when i called to maybe get a replacement or refund or something the said " we don;t make that anymore so we can't do anything for you" ........ alittle customer service would have been nice for a piece of sh&t $250 spoiler !!!!!!!!
