i think i would patent your idea before someone like autozone does. Great idea, simple, reletively cheap and easy to produce, you know this would be seen all over the place if someone sold something like this.

Seriously man, think about that patent! This isn't just something that affects the f-body world...

At first I thought you were planning on running the fully powdercoated rotors I was gonna say uh...

Anyway, sounds like you have crazy appearance plans that go above and beyond, I'll be interested to see how it turns out.

Yeah...there is a little bit of difference between powder coating and zinc plating. These were black zinc coded to start with but its pretty ineffective against surface rust. They look good at first but they dont stay looking new for for very long. Plus the coating dulls in spots and looks pretty bad. The powder coating should last and look better a lot longer.

This is what they looked like with the zinc coating:

I was just going to go with powder coated suspension stuff but I figured I have spent so much time (and money frankly) on the rest of the car I shouldnt cheap out on the suspension...so I plan to have most everything under there chromed too over the next few months. You really cant see it but I will know its done.

Yeah, anywhere that can turn rotors should be able to do it for you. If they will. A lot of shops wont touch D&S rotors because they say they will break their cutting bits...but if they take their time and shave just a little at the time they should be fine.

Actually I was being a little cynical in using that term because it bothers the hell out of me too. But cynicism is easily lost on here.

Any brake shop will do that, or Napa auto parts does, I'm sure there are other parts stores that can as well.

Looks good.

Thanks. Like I said though, most places around here wont turn D&S rotors...so you may have to carry them to a few places before you find one that will. They figure its not worth risking a set of bits for the price of turning them. I offered to buy a new set of $120 bits if he broke them turning mine....lucky for me they didnt.
