Default Should I keep it Pewter?

Okay, after installing the VFN Sunoco hood and checking the bubbles on my black roof the wifey wants the car painted. The question I'm pondering is do I keep it Pewter with black roof/mirrors or do I go for something else? What do you guys think?

Hey man, it's up to you. How much $$$$ do you have to spend on a paintjob?

P.S. You're gonna need a new roof panel to fix the bubbling, otherwise they'll come back.

Unless you have the money/time to remove everything from the car (interior panels, engine bay stuff, etc) to completely paint the whole car a different color, then I'd stick with what you have. Nothing looks more half-assed to me than a car that just had the outside sprayed but left the engine bay, interior, door jambs, etc the factory color. Takes a LOT of coin to do it RIGHT, and a lot of time.

On a side note, I think pewter is a great color when the car is done up right and clean.

Keep it pewter. Here is the sail panel thread about the bubbling.

I'm getting a little confused. The sail panel includes the roof area too or is it just the rectangular piece?

I'd prefer to keep the two tone effect of the black roof.

Keep it pewter.

OR

If money is no object then go the viper steel grey. Not sure if that is the exact name of the color but if you have seen it then you know what I am talking about.

the sail panel is the roof peice. Now if you have a hardtop then i think the whol thing needs to be replaced....if you have t-tops then you replace just the sail panel (painted peice right behind the t-tops)

Prices for a new roof panel range between $350 and $500 if I remember correctly. That thread has more info.

Well, you could always paint it pewter again, but do a slight variation and add a little more metal flake, or maybe even some pearl to it to set it apart from the other light pewter mettalic fbodies. You wouldn't have to paint the engine bay, but I'd do the door jams.

$350-$500 dollars? Wow! I'm considering the carbon fiber threads idea of covering it? It seems to be following my dash pad in the respect of live with it and then cover it up.
