Default Tinted Windshield Questions....

I have seen a few pics of cars with tinted windshields lately and its REALLLLYYY appealing to me more and more for my orange car. I dont drive it so I am not worried about being able to see well at night or legal issues are any of that stuff...so lets not discuss that.

The first question I have is what percent are you guys going with? My windows are 20%...wouldnt it be enough to just match them?

Second, I would like to see as many pics as you guys have of cars with tinted windshields...but the main pic request I have is if somebody has a pic or can take one for me of the car with the windows down and the deck lid open (like mine is at a show) so I can see how it looks without it being completely dark inside the car.

old pics but you get the point...also remember since my car is black the front windshield being tinted wont stick out as much as a brighter colored car..but IMO i would go no darker than 35

30% Here on both my cars. Wouldnt go any darker.
One of my favorite mods.Really improves the comfort of driving. Cuts down on the glare off the dash during the day and really helps with head lights from on coming cars at night.

Hope these pictures help you...

I have to agree with everyone...I would not go darker than 35%. Eventhough you clearly don't drive it much, you want to be able to drive at night if you have/want to. From the pictures that have been posted, you can tell that even the 35% looks very dark. And even with everything open, you will still be able to tell it's tinted. I used to tint the windshield of everything I bought, but I got tired of stripping it off once a year to get an inspection.

Thanks for the pics (DanDan...those were exactly the pics I was looking for...it looks great!) And thanks VERY MUCH for the suggestions on darkness...I was going to go with 20% but glad I didnt now! I hope to get this done week after next if I can get the car back together by then....

thislswon if you get a chance to take some pics of the 35% please take a couple from the front with the doors open/windows down and the rear hatch open. I would greatly apprecaite it!

khibbets, I agree...the 35% is plenty dark enough. Like I said I am glad I asked!

Just make sure you don't wear suglasses that are polarized. They will totally screw with your vision while looking thru the windshield!

I've done 35% on the windshields on the last 3 cars I've had with good luck - even my wife's car has it. MAKE SURE you go to a really good tinter, as our windshields are very hard to get to the bottom edges being so sloped.

Heres some pics of mine with the windows up and down both. Sides/back are 5%...

The percentage is the amount of light that is allowed to pass thru...meaning 35% is 35% of light is passed thru, 5% is 5% of light is passed thru, etc.

I have 35% on the windshield, 5% on the sides/back. Its dark as hell, and takes some getting used to... but I love it. Windows up, nobody can see in at all...stealthy
