Will 18x9.5 c5 wheels w/ 65mm offset fit?

Will 18x9.5 c5 wheels w/ 65mm offset fit? The guy I talked to said the 65mm offset would fit fine on my 2000 z28 as long as I put 245/35 on the front and 275/35 on the back. What do you guys think about this setup? Would hate to blow a grand on something I can't even use.
