Speed Inc Flexplate.

Hey guys any feedback on the Speed Inc flexplate that is on sale right now?

if you want it to work with a th350 or th400 be ready to get out the power tools. plus you can get it from CAT for $50

I thought the speed inc one was made to bolt a TH350/400 right up?

i thought that too until i went to put mine in last week. you will have to either oblong the holes atleast another 1/4" or drill new ones. dont expect to bolt it right in is all i'm saying. IMO it is not worth buying it from them for $120 when it can be had for $50 or you can just use a stock 98 flexplate. if you want a good flexplate, spend the extra money and get the TCI. now that is a nice piece. i will post pics for you of the "speed inc" and tci flexplates and show you how much it is off.

we've had quite a few people install the flexplate in a TH400 without issue, their is one set of holes on the flexplate oblonged.

On most flex plates there is one hole that needs to have a bolt installed first. This is the alignment hole. This hole is usually a reasonably tight fit to the bolt and is oblonged up and down. With this being said the other two should line up perfectly. I have not installed this flexplate so I can not say for sure if this is the case. Just thought I would throw it out there. Vince

what else is needed to bolt the speed inc flexplate to the th400. Does it still need teh spacers if so does anyone have the part number for it.

how does TCI's Flexplate compare to an 04 LS1 flexplate as far as strength and weight?

the TCI flexplate is the thickest one that i have seen. then again, it weighs the most too. the stock ones are not sfi rated. if you need a replacement then i wouldn't have any problem running a stock one.

here is the TCI compared to the speed inc flexplate. if running a th350/400 this is how much you would have to open up the holes. the TCI fit PERFECT!
