I believe that it has cured mine as well. Car woke up a lot from doing this, maybe it had a stall in it all along and I just didn't even know about it.

Default The Verdict Is In...

Got the car to the tuner today and had him adjust the misfire tables, as suggested. The Verdict - The converter locks and unlocks as it should now. I drove the car about 100 miles after the adjustment was made and all is well.

Thank you doesn't scratch the surface of my gratitude, but Thank you !

I put the MAF sensor back in mine after this seemingly fixed my problem and it started acting up again, so I'm back in SD mode with a new Edge 3000 stall in the mail. Has yours acted up since you posted that? If you do start to have problems just get rid of the MAF and run the car in SD because, for whatever reason, it seems to help dramatically and I know the MAF is used in torque calculations so it does have a strong impact on the way the computer handles it.

Have you completely tuned out misfire detection? I used to run a MAF and had no problems with misfire detection completely off.

Yeah, I had missed one table and went back and got it and it helped, but again not completely fixed.

Do you know what values your tuner used? If the values are too high do you lose mis-fire detection capability? I'm having the same problem with a LQ9/4L80E. No codes displayed. If it is detecting a mis-fire, why isn't a code displayed?

A code is not always displayed for missfire only if it becomes severve . Randon missfires generally do not set a code

very good thread.

You can have the check engine light flashing on and off, but not throw a misfire code.
