Default Circle D - converter options explained

I thought I would start a thread describing the differences in my billet converter options. It can get a little confusing when trying to shop for a new converter and I want to make it as easy as possible. These are the current prices and a brief description.

Stage I - "Street/Strip Billet Series" - $695.00 - The ideal street strip torque converter for the average bolt-on or heads/cam set up making 450-500 rwhp. This unit consists of a standard billet front and billet piston. Each unit is furnace brazed and tig welded for increased strength and integrity. Custom built to customers specs. Stall options range from 2500 to 4000.

Stage II " Competition Billet Series" - $885.00 - This unit is for the hardcore big cube and power adder guys. Ideal for those that are putting down some serious naturally aspirated HP or running a big shot of nitrous. This is a fully rollerized unit that has the custom billet front and custom billet piston. Each unit is furnace brazed and tig welded for increased strength and integrity. Custom built to customer specs. Stall options 3000 to 5500 .

Stage III "Pro Billet Series" - $995.00 - This unit is the serious over acheiver. It has no HP limits. It is built with our custom billet front,, custom billet piston and has our highly proven multi-disc lock up assembly. This converter can be locked up on the dyno or at WOT down the track and take all you can throw at it. We challenge you to try to break it. Each unit is furnace brazed and tig welded for increased strength and integrity. Custom built to customer specs. Stall options 3000 to 5500 .

Each of our torque converters are custom built when ordered. We do not offer an off the shelf converter. Each unit is meticulously machined, balanced and assembled as if it were going our own car. We set the standard when it comes to quality and crafstmanship. We provide unsurpassed customer service before, during and after the sale. As always, we offer free shipping to all of our LS1Tech members.

Yes, the stall ratings will still be the same. 2C, 3C, 4C, 5C..... This is just different levels of durability, nothing to do with stall. Example, you can get the 4C Stall Rating in the Stage I, II or III.

Can you do a Stage III in a 3200 stall ? or do they go just in 1K increments hence the 3C,4C,5C ?

I can do a "+2C" and it would be in the 3200 range. I can custom build what ever you need, that's the Circle D way!

It is a single disk converter, so it does have lock up. It is only designed for "cruising" lock up, meaning no WOT lock up. If you want it to work under WOT with that power, the Stage III with the multi disk is the only way to go.

Thanks, appreciate the feedback. Making LS's faster one converter at a time.

Chris,

Thanks for your reply.

Now, is there any difference in feel or driveability between you 3 stages of Converters ?

Drivability is going to mostly be determined by the stall choice. Meaning a "2C" 3200 will feel tighter than a "5C" 4400. The only difference will be the Stage III multi disk will lock up harder than the other 2 stages. All 3 converters do not have springs in the clutch, which means they will lock up a littler firmer than the OE clutch.
