LS1 to TH400 Converters???
LS1 to TH400 Converters??? Ive been looking around for a Torque Converter for my TH400 that can adapt to the stock LS1 Flywheel. Are there any companies that do this? Im looking for a 4400 stall TC. Links would be sweet!

I have a Fuddle Converter for my 400 but it stalled 3200 behind a Turbo Buick V6 and am looking for something in the 4000-4400 stall range behind the LS1 Im building

I am running an old school converter in my 400 along with the hughes adapter and I had to get some indexing converter washers from jegs to get mine to space out right and properly engage the pump in the tranny. Heres the part JEGS #555-82505

Verdad Gallardo I know most 6.0 seem to be because they usually have 4l80's behind them. For the 5.3 I am not sure on that, I am running a 98 flywheel and still had to shim the converter back so I don't think its perfect. Hughes actually says their adapter is made to run with just their flywheel on the website and it has welded on tabs to space it out.
We make direct bolt in converters for the LS1 and a 400 with a factory flexplate that has the correct bolt circle and pilot.

If you have a 6 bolt TH400 converter you need a stock 6.0 flexplate that had a 4l80 behind it. And the spacer that goes between the crank and that flexplate. Bolts right up. If you have a 3 bolt converter, you and use the flexplate and space i mentioned, just need to oblong 3 holes just a little bit.

Your Fbody starter should work fine. When I swapped flexplates on my truck I went from a dished to flat with spacer and it didnt effect my starter. I never really thought about it, until you said something. ahah

I have a 3200 stall converter for my TH400. The stall speed was rated that behind a 3.8L Turbo V6 Buick engine that propelled my Firebird to 12.20@113mph.
What do you guys think this converter may stall behind a H/C/I 6.0L?? Any advice??

Hey WYATT318MOPAR... what does the TH400 do with your 4.10? Cause my Nissan has a 4.11 and I'm installing a TH400 on the LS1... I wana know gas mileage, and speed rpms through out the gears... what are they..?

(btw: I still don't get what is needed in the end, I have a 98 LS1 from an F-body, what do I need exactly for it to bolt on to my LS1? All I know is that I need the spacer from Summit, what else have we came on to agree that is needed with the LS1 98?)

I went to the place where he had the TH400, I saw it, checked it out... the question I wana ask... is that he offered to give me the Torque Converter with it saying that I will need to use it, plus he gave me a Flywheel that has 2 hole areas that will make the th400 fit, does he know what hes talking about? and will it work? shim in everyone please, I don't want to buy something that would backfire later...
