Modify stock shifter for drag racing(instead of B&M or the like)
I am looking for a way to modify my automatic shifter in my 1986 Iroc. When racing and I shift from 1st, and 2nd, I sometimes go up too many gears and end up letting the tranny shift to early... I would like a ratchet type thing or way to modify it so that it is harder to go through 2 gears at once.
Although this is for a 700r4 it is the same setup as the 4L60, so it should apply to 3rd and 4th gens...
I know that I can just buy a B&M, but I want the interior to look as stock and possible.
Thanks for any help!
Chris

+1 MVB going in this week. Would hate to be the guy who missed a gear in an auto

if you look at the shifter there is a metal plate with a pattern of notches. Those are the "clicks" you feel when moving the shifter. Just watch how it operates and modify the notches to you have a more positive "click"
