Default Shiftkit ?
I was wondering if i really needad a shift kit for my converter or if i could bump the line pressure up with my predator and acheive the same results?

Only bump up the line pressure, with both you can plan on doing some repairs. So in other words you'd get the same results with either one!

Don't bother with the Predator. Get a transgo shiftkit. It will make your car shift not near as sloppy with the converter. You'll love it, just make sure it is installed by somebody who has done them before.

I would much rather have a good shift kit than boosting PART THROTTLE line pressure...which is about all you're really doing when doing it by electronic means. Boosting line pressure can be hard on the tranny and really doesn't help at WOT or with helping the longevity of a tranny behind good power (I'm talking about reducing slippage of the 3-4 clutches at WOT.)

I like the TCI shift kit.

I would rather do that than to adjust it by programming. Just don't go crazy with it. With programming you're really just adjusting when and where it'll see a given percentage of the max line pressure. When adjusting it manually you're actually adjusting what the max line pressure is.

But, a shift kit is BY FAR the best solution. It does much more than simply upping the line pressure.

so when i get my shift kit do i have to take all the tranny programming i have done or do i have to just set the line pressure back to normal.

When you install your shiftkit, I'd probably program the line pressure back to stock.

Chaz, I do think it would be ok so long as you don't get carried away with it.
