4L60 done right
I wipped my stock 4l60e in my 95 Camaro. I was eyeballing the stage 2 from speed, the price is right but i havent been hearing much good about them. I only see one option from flp. I know there are many other sources but just wanted to get a few opinions, thanks

We pulled out my Speed Inc unit after 3000 miles (about 1.5 years old) and it was trash. 3-4 clutch packs burned like hell, band was cracked & lining burned, clearances were sloppy, also there was a soleniod issue somewhere messing up my downshifts. This trans was never run down the track, and the fluid temp never went above 185*. This was all with the setup in my sig...
My new FLP unit is WORLDS better in every way. I can't beleive how much better it shifts even compared to how the Speed Inc one did when new.
In Speed Inc's defense though, they no longer use the supplier than my trans came from. They use Extreme Automatics in OH now, my unit came from their old guy in Louisville, KY.
Speed is a great shop, I like them very much. I think they made a big mistake with their first supplier from Louisville, but from what I've seen & heard their new units from Extreme are much better.
FLP is also a great shop and I like them a ton also, but what's better about going the FLP route is that you can talk right to the guy who's actually building your trans and go over everything with him.
Jason, you should have come down there with me to check out FLPs shop when my new trans went in.
Both FLP and Speed are great shops, they've both been good to me

That sucks that speed inc doesnt sell FLPs trans. Im gonna order one and have Speed Inc install it with my new motor, 12 bolt, and DP system. Can wait to see their faces when I show up with a FLP trans.
