Default Thoughts on this flexplate

I didn't realize how many stockers had failed until I did a search here. I'm getting ready to do a converter so looking at prices and it goes from $132-$450 for and SFI. But on E-Bay we have this one for $60.00 SFI approved:

All the features of the others.

i wouldn't get a cheap one. i went all out and got a meziere. i didn't want one that would break and i wasn't sure if the cheaper ones were balanced well. i am sure you would get vibration if it wasn't. i think speed inc makes one. you could also get a gm replacement but these are not sfi rated.

Well you don't have to spend $400 either. From researching I found info saying this is the same flexplate as B&M. Prices are all over the place on these things.

Found a member here who is using the Hawk Racing flexplate and got his testimonial. The member is SuperSport01LS6:

Hawks Racing flexplate

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Yes I did end up installing one. In my opinion it was great quality it was thicker then stock it had more welds around the entire circumference on both sides. and for the price you cant beat it. My best time to date is only 12.1 @ 115 but thats just a mild cam and milled heads with a 1.79 sixty. Still on the stock 10 bolt so i dont wanna push it and my converter is a tight 3500 stall from PTC but overall when i bought it I was very happy!

I received a FedEx tracker yesterday and it will be here in 3 days which is great. I will measure and photo it when I get it.

I got it! As can be seen SFI 29.1 rated with cert. Also no powdercoating that needs stripped and the ring gear is welded both sides. Ring gear width measures .430" wide and plate thickness where the flywheel and converter bolt measure .155" thick. I don't have a early 98 flywheel to put up comparison numbers but when I get my 02 out I will add it. If anyone cares to add numbers of stock pieces feel free!

hey man i bought that flexplate, i have had no issues with it. i also know other members that are happy with it too. i did have to drill the holes for the converterbolts, because my bolts werent fitting in that well. otherwise its a very good flexplate for the money.

it is kinda funny though when they mis-spell parts on the main label in the first pic. "Power Engine Pares" hahaha. i hope quality control for the part is better than the quality control for the label.

if the converter was made for an LS1 than you wont need anything. if it is made for a standard sbc than you will need the little round adapter to center the converter in the crank. and will also probably have to open up the holes a bit where the converter bolts to the flexplate.

Those of you that are running this ebay flexplate what bolts did you need to bolt the converter to the flexplate? I am running a Yank converter, will the bolts that Yank supplied me work with this flexplate or not?
