Yes the GTO does not have a provision for the torque arm on the tail housing and the GTO has a longer linkage shaft to accommodate the PRNDLE switch where on the camaro its in the console.
The primary difference of note for the 4l65e over the 4l60e is the addition of five pinion planets. From and external and electrical stand point they are identical transmissions.

ok cool because we will be taking my oild one out so we can swap over whatever parts are needed. It apears my sungear/reverse shell has faild and I am picking up this 4l65e from that gto for only 600 bucks cant beat that over a 1900 rebuild for my old trans

Just to let you know the one coming out of my car has 32k miles on it, has had amsoil fluid in it since about 15k miles, has a transgo shift kit, and vacuum modulation installed on it.
