Youll have to keep your Fbody tailshaft housing because of the torque arm mount, and possibly change the bellhousing but it should work otherwise.

You will need to swap the tail housing and the linkage shaft other than that it will swap right in

what's the difference between a 4L60E and a 4l65E? Are they same and the tailshaft and linkage change is because it's out of a GTO?

Yes the GTO does not have a provision for the torque arm on the tail housing and the GTO has a longer linkage shaft to accommodate the PRNDLE switch where on the camaro its in the console.

The primary difference of note for the 4l65e over the 4l60e is the addition of five pinion planets. From and external and electrical stand point they are identical transmissions.

Just to let you know the one coming out of my car has 32k miles on it, has had amsoil fluid in it since about 15k miles, has a transgo shift kit, and vacuum modulation installed on it.
