Too much tranny fluid

Can i put a piece of plastic tubing down the dipstick and use a hand held vacuum pump to suck some fluid out ?

Thanks...I have done this on another car with no problems but not on an LS1. I didn't know if the tube can get stuck down there..

Why not just crack the fitting at the radiator?

It makes more of a mess. Maybe. I needed to take some fluid out of mine the other day and was looking for a long hose. And I have a drain plug. Still more of a mess but thats how I got it out.

Sticking a piece of tubing down the tube in alot easier and less of a mess. Plus i see exactly how much came out, imo.
