Got talked into a pt4000 from a ss3200. The rear is going in this week so I im excited to see total lack of traction. Thanks dave for spending the time to explain everything. I just saw a bolt on car on youtube with the pt4000 run a 11.75

Got the car back today! Its not broke in yet so I haven't flashed it, but just driving and keeping the RPMs low in some stop and go traffic I was pleased to find it much tighter than my old 3600 stall (won't name company), the car will actually move under its own power in drive and reverse with no gas, and it doesn't seem to rev as high as my old converter did.
How long is the break in period? I lost my papers than came with it...

My experience with those type of STR's has been that they will feel tighter when driving in the City but they loose power up Top.
I wouldn't mind having one of Yanks old "Super Yank 3500" with an STR of 1.67-1.9.

It had great mid to top end pull but the new SS 3600 converters are very close in top end slip with in 1 % but have great low speed driving profile.
Over all the SS 3600 will out perform the SY3500 in all areas but where the car is traction limited as to tires ( the low STR 1.63 helps the tires stay in contact better.
