I think the PT series is a 245MM-9.75" diameter converter. That is to small for that power. We can custom build you a converter that will behave correctly behind that power. Probably a 10.25" or a 10.5", need more specs on the car. It will also have a multi disk clutch, so you can apply the clutch on the dyno and it will act just like a standard, "0" slippage.

Send me a PM with more details and I can give you some ideas.

Sorry my converter is the yank pye 3400 . But on the dyno it stalls to 5500. I havent got a problem with this but only for engine tuning purposes. How is yours or mighty mouses stalling whats it stall speed on dyno.

i have a 4l80e and i searched through the converters but my conclusion was the 5 disk PI also.
the circle D was an option so was another smaller company but by the time they developed their converter and had one avail it was too late as i am impatient.
yank only has the 3 disk lock up and iddn't sound ovelry too confident in locking up during WOT.
I figure in this econmy to go with a slightly bigger company in case some of these smaller outfits bail out and i am screwed without a warranty.

Who knows i am getting my PI tomarrow and i'll find out just how good it works. Or doesn't work. I had a PI before and ran into the problem of having to restall my old one for a th400 4 times. HOpefully they got it right this time.

what is your set up? you could be skiping right past your peek tq and missing out on some ET. on my truck when it was around 1000rwhp my peek tq was at or below 5000rpm. 5500 is great for geting off the line but the rest of the time it might be hurting you.

i know the converter in our fairmont flashing to 5400+ was killing our mph and a little et. our entire run was spent between 5400-6300 while i suspect our peek tq was at 4800rpm or below. just an example of how the tq falls off we are at 600ft/lbs at 5500rpm and 500ft/lbs at 6000rpm and we were spending way too much of our run at 6000rpm or above. dont even know where the tq might be at a lower rpm since we couldn't get a reading.

Im not 100% sure but my max torque would be around the 5000-5200 range.but my problem is this car is a street car and ocasional track car, and for the street it might be a little hairy at that stall speed . But for track it would be sufficient with big rear tyres . my car is a gto 05

Looking at your graph, it looks a lot like mine. It is blowing right through your converter. Also the torque looks a bit low, just like mine. Third gear, not sure what rpms you ran , but it looks up there, should be higher then 101 mph or 163 kmh. How long did the run last?
With my TCI race converter, at 7000 rpm in 3rd, I see 105 mph on the dyno with 871 rwhp, it takes 1.5 seconds for a full pull. That works out to 36% converter slip. I just ordered a custom converter for my application, it will be interesting to see what the results of just a converter change are. Shooting for this weekend.

this run was in third. because this engine was not put on an engine dyno its hard to tell the torque figure its only being tuned on car dyno. we are puting a manual to have more control over the tune . this run was about 6000-6500 rpm on race fuel i think she has more power when set up right.I did note the mph was a bit low.
