Default No overdrive and ses light?

Tonight i was leaving a friends house...started up my ca..started down the road....almost immediately the ses light came on...engine sounded fine but the car would engage into overdrive at speed...most of the time you can tell by (engine noise, tach reading, and so forth) when the car changes gears...it was doing nothning out of the ordinary before and i wasn't running the car hard or anything, just ordinary street driving. Any suggestions what might be wrong? Maybe a vacuum hose some where loose or something? BTW sorry if this thread is in the wrong part of the forum in advance.

I've been told one of the first symptoms of low trans fluid or need for maintenance is no OD gear. Knowing the code would be very helpful though.

That code is for shift solenoid electrical. The firstmove would be to change the 2-3 (B) solenoid

You may want to do a quick visual of the external harness for any damage prior to removing the soleniod.
