Default Silverado Trans to Z28

Ok, so the car i am getting has a bad 60E (Reason i am getting such a deal on it) And i have a brand new 60E out of a Silverado. Will the truck trans work in the car? And it is a 2WD trans, not 4. I have heard that the bellhousings are different but it will still work. Can anyone clarify this??

If the the silverado in question is the 96 model, then more than the bellhousing is different. The input shaft is a different diameter, the torque converter is made for this input shaft and has a different bolt circle, and the shift shaft is longer. This trans can be made to work in the car, but it will take a bit of modifying.

Hmmm so would it be worth modifying? This is just a temporary trans until i get all the parts and money for a manual swap.
