Exclamation rebuild or new ?

i have a auto 2000 t/a i blew trans in it pretty bad, every one ive talked to thinks that my front pump went out, but im not a trany expert so idk.
it blew alot of trany fluid (nerley all of it) out the brether on the top of the tranny and the car would die if i let the rpms drop down to far, then i herd loud clanking from the tranny 3 times then the whole car shut off, it also broke the starter.

there not much done to the car just tranny cooler, o2 sims, gutted catts, ported t/b, slp lid, and msd wires and the free mods, 3'' cat back magnaflow

well i just got it out of the car and i know some one that says he worked for gm for 13 years and he could rebuild it for 100 buck plus parts and i found a full rebuild kit from advances for bout 150 bucks so any advice would be great thanks, and will i need a new converter or can the one i got be fixed ?

also i dont got much money right now, and i plan to do a m6 swap eventually i just need the car 2 run for right now

If your on a tight budget, and need your car running, and trust your friend rebuilding it then $250 ain't bad. If you really think he can fix it, Is he gonna check the hard parts out and everything else or just put a rebuild kit in it for you? You might want look at some used options as well.

Thats a good deal i would take him up on it. I know its gonna be more than $250 im sure it wiped out some hard parts which can get costly depending on what broke but its usally cheaper then a new trans. There actually really easy to rebuild they just require special tools thats what makes them a pain in the *** for the normal person.

A pump breaking and a starter breaking at the same time is real odd.
I'd say you just broke the flexplate and it made the noise and took out the starter. But that doesn't explain the fluid coming out.
Might plan on adding a new flexplate to your budget.

Seriously, it's time to dust off the ole tool box and start working on the car. No amount of guessing on the internet is going to do you better.
