Tranny acting up on trips in OD
Hello there,
I've taken two long trips in the last 2 months and have experienced problems on the way back. One trip was 8 hours both ways and the other was 3 hours both ways.
Both times on the way back I will be in OD at cruising speed (about 70mph) and the rps will start going up and down, pretty slightly but still despite maintaining speed. Its very noticeable with my exhaust being louder and you can hear it going up and down. Basically it is revving a lot and I know it shouldn't be. The first time it happened I assumed was my fault finding out I was low on trans fluid.
Any ideas?

I was thinking it may have something to do with the converter. I don't know a whole load about autos as I've been driving a manual truck for..well since I started driving haha
No check engine lights and no codes. This car doesn't even have ticking from the engine (yet)! haha

While driving down a highway at a steady speed around 50-60 mph slightly depress the brake pedal and release it to see if your rpm's change. If it is cycling then try putting your foot under the pedal and pulling it up towards you. Of course make sure you are in a safe area. Other than that you need a scan tool to watch the tcc state.
