What kind of shift extension does everyone get? I am only getting around 5000, I think it should be more. The converter was stalled for a stock internal car, and since I have added a 224 cam, so it should be stalling even more then before, which would raise the shift extension I would think. Thanks!

The shift extension of my TCS4200 is about 5700 RPM. My car is a C5 with H/C. Where are your cars shift points set at? If they are too low that could be part of the problem. My car shifts at 6500 RPM.

My car shifts at 6500 also. 5000 is a good bit lower then what I was hoping. Some 3500 stalls get 4700-4800 on the shifts. I'm looking for 5500-5700. Thanks for your input Mitch. What is everyone else getting.

depending upon what style 4200 you had built, I would expect either 5000 - 5200 or 5500 - 5700. Different STR combinations will result in varying drivabilty and shift extension.

Most of the other TCS4200 owners seem to be getting about the same shift extension I am getting. You are right about some of the 3500 stalls, I had an ST3500 that had a shift extension of about 4800-4900. I see that you are stock internally, perhaps Derek sent you a 4200 that was setup to work with a H/C cam motor, that might account for the low shift extensions. What shift extensions did Derek tell you to expect?

I ordered the stall and ran it for a while with stock internals. I ordered it from Mikey at Rapid. I specified for a 4200/2.7STR for a stock internal motor with best ET in mind. Oh well, as soon as I get the cash, it will be replaced by a new Yank anyway.

You probably don't want to consider mine since it was clearly out of spec with stall around 5100-5200 but the shift extension was running about 5800-5900. Nothing quite as humorous as blowing through from 5900-6600 NA on converter that was supposed to hold up to a 200HP shot. :eek
