ive read a good bit about the swap but have a few questions if someone could shed some light.
cars a 02 ws6 6.0 heads will be either b a set of 5.3s or a set of l92's..
my consideration for the 80e is to have a trans that can take alot of abuse and hopefully be done reasonably cheap. i dont have the money to sink in for a flt/performabuilt 60 right now so why not go 80.

from what ive read the older trannys seem to be better built and require a tad less cutting??
as far as the shifting the ecm can be pinned and programmed to shift the tranny ?
whats the trans go kit cost?
lastely whats a trans brake cost?

I used 2 relays, since my shifter only has 1 switch for park/neutral.

You need to pass +12V for the starter circuit (1 relay) and the PCM needs to see a ground (the other relay). It was the easist way I could think of to trigger both with only 1 switch on my (aftermarket) shifter.

Thanks for all the info. I just bought a 4l80 myself and about to start the swap. I have a bm pro stick and will swap the gates to make it a 4 speed unit. I don't know but I might use the stock converter for a little while. I am going to go through the trans and inspect and rebuild it if need be. I will do a swap thread when I get started on it. Josh

slow67, when swapping M6->A4, do I have to add a pin to PCM for that PNP ground signal? Is that what you mean?

No, I moved the wire that was in CAGS (skip shift) since it wasn't being used anymore.

Did you move skip shift wire from C1-79 to C1-34 (PNP signal), and on the other end, where it was connected to skip shift solenoid, you connected it to the shifter switch?
