Mine is in the side of the tranny and I am around 150ish on the highway and 180-200 messing around town in 60 degree weather.... I have a tranny cooler also...

Yours are low compared to mine.... think i might need ANOTHER tranny cooler or something...... What is the normal operating temp of a 4l60E?

Now im worried....lol

The reading in the pan is the most accurate place to read temps. I think you have it in the right place! Vince

I would agree with Vince also the temp range your seeing is well within normal range and sounds like your guage is reading right for your enviroment.

Most do, autometers all come with it. You'll just need to by a length of 18ga wire to run from the sensor to the gauge. Very easy install.
