What did it run you and where did you get one. I see them on their site, but not for sale anywhere. Good to hear someone has these working. I'm going to be talking to Rossler since his seem to work pretty good, expensive, but good. Plus he's only a few miles from where I grew up. Everyone in that area knows him and that he knows his crap.

There is a reason that companies Like TCI only sell a Transbrake in a complete transmission assembly. Rossler did the same initially as well. Transbrakes and other V.B. kits are designed with the assumption that no other modifications have been performed to the transmission. Hydraulics are very tempermental, one internal leak, orifice change or spring change can severly impact the performance of any sponsors kit.

We offer the complete transmission as well as the valve body for the early and late models. As long as the person that installs the valve body, follows the installation instructions there shouldn't be any problems unless they aren't proficient in building a transmission.

As far as where to get info, etc on it, go to our website and click on "whats new" and look for the press release about halfway down the page.

Where do you get your information? TCI sells the transbrake valve for the early and late units seperately.

Default Valve Body

The TCI part# for the early trans is 274500 and 274501 for the 97 up trans. It is available seperate.

Sorry,

do you work for TCI ?

do they sell separately a stand alone MVB that would bolt straight into a 4L80E.

I need help cause the transgo-3 kit i had is going in the bin and have run out of options.

cheers

Yes, I do work for TCI. The only valve body that we currently offer for the 4L80E is the brake setup.

Great ,

I just got off the phone with Dennis from TCI and asked a few questions.

there is hope for me yet as my Transgo-3 kit ended up in the bin.

do you know much about these new VB?

Dennis asked me to email him all the questions i have and he will try to answerer them.

He did not have a kit on the shelf .

So i understand that the kit converts a 4L80E into a full forward manual valve body with a transbrake and lock up converter harness .

Does it come with a custom VB or do i have to use my own stock GM VB like the Transgo?

thanks

We will have them on the shelf next week. It is a complete valve body, not a kit. It is a reverse pattern w/brake and converter lockup.

WOW, does it use a custom VB or a modified factory GM unit?

It's a modified factory valve body core.

I was hoping not

I will just have to wait for peoples feedback on here , may take a while .

No offense but i'm not sure considering people like Rossler have tryed and given up on trying to make a manual VB work 100% in a 4L80E

have to wait and see then,

thanks for the info . .

P.S if you get board you can read all about my bad experience in the thread i started last year.

I think he's asking if you send one with the kit, or you send a kit and modify the one the customer's VB.

It is a complete valve body with the machining work and all modifications done. You do need to make internal mods to the transmission. You can go to our site and look under instructions for 274500 or 274501 and see what needs to be done.

What about the delayed shifts that alot of guys seem to have. Like a snappy 1-2, then laggy 2-3. You think that's internal or a kit defect?

I have not noted that with the transgo nor have I had any cutomers say anything about it. The kits pretty straight forward and works at least in my expereince it has been fine.
Based on that it may be some internal issue. Though I will say the TG instructions for the 80e and the 60e could use some rewriting they are easily confusing, I have helped many people with little issues caused by that.

Yea I remember the night I did it. It's pretty screwy and if I remember correctly [almost 2 years ago] the springs they included didnt match the colors they mentioned in the instructions.

Dont get me wrong, it works, but when I'm at the track the 2-3 just doesnt cut it. I'll tear it down here soon and we'll see what's up.
