Effin trans! Again!
If you want to get to the root of the problem on your own, get a vacuum gauge, you know the good old fashioned way connect it, make the problem happen look at the gauge. theres the answer to your lifters (or not) right there. What happens when lifters stick--the gauge goes screwy. Same results if the cats were clogged.
Personally I'd run it with a fuel pressure gauge on it and look at that when the problem is going on--at a different time than doing a vacuum test.
Going by your descriptions now I'd say check the map sensor--it's in the back of the engine and could be damaged since the engine needs to lean back so far when the trans comes out.
Also look at the wiring back there, I was bolting up a trans once and found the wires between the engine and trans about to get pinched, thats why I look.
Take the cats off and inspect them.
Make sure the check engine light actually works.
Take the trans out and try to ID the converter. What are the odds the car had a mild converter in it and it got swapped with the trans work? Still it could have a truck application, low stall converter in it now, somehow.
I'd pull the tune out of the computer and verify it was stock.
Just for the hell of it I'd put a pressure gauge on the trans.
I'd check the MAF for something stuck in the screen.
Since it seems to be beyond an obvious problem I'd test some not so obvious stuff.
And again personally I have hp tuners so I'd run with that connected
I know what is going on now! Unfortunately on the way home the pump started screaming and the car barely would move. I'm going to have the fuel filter changed again and hope it runs. I tried turning the key on and the pump just whines.I called the shop that changed the filter last week and he told me the filter he removed was COMPLETELY BLOCKED.He could NOT blow ANY air through it. He also mentioned what ever it is is so fine you can barely see it. I hope it doesn't block the screens in the injectors yet!

Again Thank you Rapid
for finding an answer in a few mins that TWO GM dealers couldn't find in 4 hrs! You need to learn to take advice. You never planned to fix it yourself, this thread was a huge waste of time. You just needed to find the right shop, theres no way this thread helped you do that, this was just an outlet for your frustration and nothing more.

maybe next time you can ask at the appropriate moment in time and you will receive a lollipop

BOTH GM DEALERS CLAIMED
NOTHING WRONG WITH THE CAR
ALL DATA GOOD
I guess you can take any GM dealers service advice and toss it in the dumper!
Can you imagine how many cars are out there with major trouble that don't get fixed till they stop!
Try to not drive him insane ok. I can't wait til part IV what shop 10 screwed up, and the noise I hear now between 10.3 mph and 10.4 mph when it's 84.35 degrees F outside.

So whens the next update? I know Sunday he'll be off, but if you have a dream about the car should I tune in tomorrow?
