Default Cam VS Stall

Quick question, I have a ls6 cam in the car now with longtube, ORY, LS6 Intake, all the air **** deleted. I was wondering if I should sell the 228r cam I have waiting to go in the car in order to get a stall? I havent done the came because I have no stall, but would a ss3600 wake the car up with the LS6 cam??

Its a hard decision, I am torn an which one is going to be the best as far as driveability and power increase. Somedays I wish I had a M6

well if u get a cam first..you wont get the most out of it untill you stall it.. so logically id say a stall first for a auto car

get a stall first.. you will NEED it for a cam that makes any kind of power at all...

I would get the stall first. They will both compliment each other. But if it is a fairly radical cam it might need a stall, but the stall does not need a cam.

The stall is probably the best performance gain you can get for your dollar but when you do change your cam you wil definately need a stall.I would wait and make sure I knew wich cam I was going to run and have the converter built to work with it.If you throw a converter at it then change you cam you will more than likely need to restall.By the way our converters come with a free restall so if you did it first we can restall it when you change your cam.

Don't forget a 228 cam is getting to the point that it will push through the brakes without a stall

I just sold the cam to get the money for a stall. I wish I could keep the cam but the wife would throw a fit if I spent that much money! I am going to see how it does with my little LS6 cam and go from there, hope I made the right decision! I have never drivenn a stalled car so I really dont know what to expect

THANKS!! Thinking of coming that way to hit the casinos, can drive 1.5 hours to oklahomo but it has gotten tight up there on the payouts. How well do you like the 3200, and what brand. I have to ship and deliver the parts I sold and I am going to place an order for the stall!! I am looking between the 3200-3600 and no bigger I have read everything there is to read and I dont want a loose one, thanks for the offer

We have the Billet street strip series in the "2C" stall rating - which is 3200-3400. Should be just what you are looking for. They have a 2 year warranty and 1 included "I got a bigger cam and need more stall" option.

SS3600 is a great choice. It's a really nice compromise for street/strip, and if you ever decide to spray the car, it's ready to go. Many, many folks spraying their SS series converters with great success. You said a tight converter is important....that's one of the most popular features of the SS series. I had the SS4000 and it was great on the street, even with 3.23 gears. The SS3600 is one of the best selling converters for a reason!

i have an edge converter. its a little on the loose side for being a 3200 i think. i like it though, and i love the fact that it doesnt drive like stock. so far leaving kinda soft i have cut a 1.69 60 foot at the track on a drag radial with no suspension mods.

this against a heads/cam car with a lot of weight reduction.

i was told do a stall because the ls1 cams are good anyways, youll get more from it.if you can tell a stock cam and converter if you stomp it theres a power point that you can feel at aroung 2000 or so.i did a stall and wow what a diff.so do the stall youll be happy

I vote stall also. I just installed a Vigilante 3600 stall and it dropped my 60' about 3 tenths.

I had the same decision to make this spring with my GTO...........

I went with a 3600 FTI converter and a bigger cooler.

I am way happy with the decision!
