perm. trans pressure gauge
i was going to install a permanet trans pressure gauge in the car, was wondering if thats a bad idea based on the high pressure they see, and i couldnt find an Autometer gauge that high anyway
i have a test gauge i used, but kind of a PITA with it wraped around everything while driving, lol

The only time it would be even close to that is in reverse at WOT. I guess with a trans brake it is possible. I have never seen anyone ever monitor transmission line pressure in street car. I have talked to a serious player that they do monitor pressure in a 2000rwhp glide. But then again that is a serious race car! Vince

Thats all you guys have seen?
When I got my used 60,000 mile 4L80E with no reverse I seen 550psi in reverse at under 3000 rpm. The only problem it caused was a hairline crack in the rev servo. And I guess that might be why the bushings were worn real bad. The clutches were nice, I guess they were holding tight

I have seen where problems with a trans will exceed that that but not with one that is in good working order. I made a mistake on a FMX with installing a PR spring backwards once and that thing pegged a gauge hard when we fired it up on the dyno. IIRC it was a 600psi gauge! Whoops!

Getting sprayed with refrigerant/oil thats 40 to 60 below zero isn't much fun either. Not to mention if you're on the high side of the system.
