High flow tcc?
I had a thread a while back about my converter locking in 2nd when the fluid was cold. I have traced it to the TCC solenoid not exhausting fluid fast enough. I figure if a "high flow" one combined with Dexron 6 fluid (supposedly more stable in cold conditions) should solve my problem. Although summer is just around the corner and have not experienced this problem as much.
I would look and see if possibly one of the TCC control valve springs is broken in the pump I have seen this a few times and checking it does not require removal of the trans.
Circle D- Are you talking about the checkball at the end of the input shaft?
I would say a hole in the plate is to large. or by some other means the TCC solenoid crossleak or other is being fed at a greater rate than it can exhaust, Having the capsul in plave or note would not change that, It only affects the rate of apply on the converter clutch once the TCC valve is stroked and supplies fluid.
One question though have you just tried changing the TCC solenoid to a new one?
